In the record

The rest of the Quapaw's 150-section reserve granted in 1833, kept by the Quapaw as their home in 1867; the 1899 federal record lists no cession. The area covers about 73 thousand acres in what is now Oklahoma.

The 1899 record names Kaskaskia, Ottawa, Quapaw, Shawnee, Wea and 1 more as the people of this land.

This area was not ceded. The 1899 record shows it as a reservation the nation kept, at least until the record ends in 1894.

Today, Peoria Tribe of Indians of Oklahoma, Grand River Bands of Ottawa Indians, Grand Traverse Band of Ottawa and Chippewa Indians, Michigan, Little River Band of Ottawa Indians, Michigan, Little Traverse Bay Bands of Odawa Indians, Michigan, Ottawa Tribe of Oklahoma and 5 more carry the history of the people named here.

Shapes come from C. C. Royce’s 1899 maps as georeferenced by the US Forest Service. They are approximate and are not legal descriptions of land. Royce recorded land the United States treated as ceded; the shape does not show a nation’s territory.
