Ceded to the United States
The 1899 record: “Ratifies .and contirras .agreement made with tlie Creeks Jan. 19, 1889, by which they cede to the U. S. the half of their "domain" lying W. of the division line”
In the record
Ceded by the Creek in a January 1889 agreement ratified that March: the half of their lands west of the 1866 division line, and all other claims (the 'Oklahoma' lands). The area covers about 2.1 million acres in what is now Oklahoma.
The 1899 record names Muscogee (Creek) as the people of this land.
Today, Alabama-Quassarte Tribal Town, Kialegee Tribal Town, Muscogee (Creek) Nation, Poarch Band of Creek Indians and Thlopthlocco Tribal Town carry the history of the people named here.

Shapes come from C. C. Royce’s 1899 maps as georeferenced by the US Forest Service. They are approximate and are not legal descriptions of land. Royce recorded land the United States treated as ceded; the shape does not show a nation’s territory.
