By Delaware, Potawatomi, Miami, Eel River, and Wea at Grouseland near Vincennes, Indiana (1805)
In the record
Ceded by the Delaware in August 1804, land between the Ohio and Wabash; the Piankishaw (1804) and the Miami and allied tribes (1805) recognized the Delaware's right to sell it. The area covers about 2.0 million acres in what is now Indiana.
The 1899 record names Delaware (Lenape) and Miami as the people of this land.
How it was taken: a treaty or agreement. The OSU text shows a negotiated cession for annuity and goods; the preamble gives the US motive but no cited source describes coercion.
Today, Delaware Nation (Oklahoma), Delaware Tribe of Indians, Stockbridge Munsee Community, Miami Nation of Indians of the State of Indiana, Inc. and Miami Tribe of Oklahoma carry the history of the people named here.

Shapes come from C. C. Royce’s 1899 maps as georeferenced by the US Forest Service. They are approximate and are not legal descriptions of land. Royce recorded land the United States treated as ceded; the shape does not show a nation’s territory.
