In the record

Royce’s schedule records 14 cessions that lie at least partly in Utah, from 1861 to 1892, under 5 treaties, agreements and acts. The peoples named most often are Shoshone (Shoshoni), Navajo (Diné) and Bannock.

The atlas records 5 broken treaty promises here, including Western Shoshone: Treaty of Ruby Valley (1863) and the ICC payment the Nation refuses, Bears Ears National Monument (2016-2026): designation, reductions, restoration and the July 2026 action (context, not a treaty claim) and Navajo water: the 1868 treaty reserves water but creates no duty to secure it (Arizona v. Navajo Nation, 2023). Land has come back here: Ute Indian Tribe and Utah trust land disputes.

Everything here is linked at state level only. The atlas does not look up addresses or parcels, and a cession touching a state does not tell you whose land a particular place is.
