Land area
Land of the Appalachicola band in Florida, ceded 1833 (area 184)
- 1823
Set aside as a reservation
- 1833
Ceded to the United States
By Apalachicola at Pope's, Fayette County, Florida Territory (1833)
In the record
Set aside for Mulatto King and Emathlochee on the Apalachicola in 1823, then ceded by the Appalachicola band in June 1833. The area covers about 26 thousand acres in what is now Florida.
How it was taken: a treaty made under documented pressure. The OSU treaty text ends U.S. protection for chiefs who stay after other Seminole bands leave, tying their position to removal.

Shapes come from C. C. Royce’s 1899 maps as georeferenced by the US Forest Service. They are approximate and are not legal descriptions of land. Royce recorded land the United States treated as ceded; the shape does not show a nation’s territory.
