In the record

The United States made one treaty or agreement that names Buena Vista as a party: California Treaty D: Camp Persifer F. Smith, Texan Pass, 1851 (unratified).

The records group it with Yokuts.

Buena Vista ... A descriptive name applied to one or more Shoshonean or Mariposan tribes living on Buena Vista lake
Research notes

Named in an unratified California treaty of 1851-52. People: Yokuts (Buena Vista Lake people; Tulamni). Hodge ties the name to this treaty ("By treaty of June 10, 1851"). Merriam (Far Western McKittrick page) records the Buena Vista and Kern Lake tribe as Too-lol'-min (Tulamni Yokuts).
