Authorized by acts of 1870 and 1871 and set apart in 1883 as a reserve for the Kickapoo in Indian Territory, then ceded in a September 1891 agreement confirmed in March 1893. The area covers about 224 thousand acres in what is now Oklahoma.
The 1899 record names Kickapoo as the people of this land.
Today, Kickapoo Tribe of Indians of the Kickapoo Reservation in Kansas, Kickapoo Tribe of Oklahoma and Kickapoo Traditional Tribe of Texas carry the history of the people named here.

Shapes come from C. C. Royce’s 1899 maps as georeferenced by the US Forest Service. They are approximate and are not legal descriptions of land. Royce recorded land the United States treated as ceded; the shape does not show a nation’s territory.
