In the record
Granted to the Wyandot at Upper Sandusky, Ohio, in 1817 and enlarged in 1818; what remained was ceded in the 1842 treaty. The area covers about 185 thousand acres in what is now Ohio.
The 1899 record names Wyandot as the people of this land.
How it was taken: a removal treaty. Article 13 of the treaty text commits the chiefs to remove their whole people west of the Mississippi, and the Wyandot Nation of Kansas describes the removal that followed in 1843.
Today, Wyandotte Nation carries the history of the people named here.

Shapes come from C. C. Royce’s 1899 maps as georeferenced by the US Forest Service. They are approximate and are not legal descriptions of land. Royce recorded land the United States treated as ceded; the shape does not show a nation’s territory.
